Breakfast at Andes

While DIFC naturally steals the culinary limelight in the Trade Centre area, a stomping ground is emerging close by in the form of One Central. This premium built locale is set to host a range of dining options from high-end cuisine and fine dining to more affordable eateries.

There’s also a nicely landscaped terrace section which looks like a perfect place for a a range of bespoke restaurants to set up, while it’s early days - it all looks very promising.

One of the early openings to set up shop is Andes, which is a new South American concept that is flush with elegance and style. The interiors looks strikingly similar to Toro +KO in City Walk, offering warm tones and a refined visual-scape to enjoy their fare.

Our visit wasn’t for their dinner service, which by all accounts is excellent but actually for breakfast.

So what can you expect? For starters some great coffee, which is a relief because you can’t have a good breakfast without good coffee. Their espresso bar serves single origin and house blends of speciality direct trade coffee, along with house made Kombucha Tea as well as a nice Vietnamese Iced Coffee. Then there’s a whole cold press section going on as well, with some nice raw botanical mixes.

To eat there’s a nice range of all the usual suspects based around Eggs Your Way. You can pair anything from poached eggs and smoked salmon through to an omelette with avocado pesto. There’s an avo toast for those that just can’t get enough of that kind of thing as well as a brisket omelette and their signature French Toast too. Aside from that they do lovely little berry compote with granola which goes rather well their pastries. Service is friendly and the menu completely affordable, which makes it a great little breakfast spot in the heart of DIFC.

We’ll let you know when we’ve tried the dinner!
