Flying Below the Radar - Zengo

An amazing place to visit and be a part of some excellent fusion concept cuisine. The crowd is picking up a little more these days so the vibe is a little livelier, especially as ladies night gains more momentum.

As far as the destination goes, it is a sophisticated blend of rich brown, black and gold tones that set the mood on the side of exclusive without being excessive, the service is outstanding, with great attention to detail and always a nice explanation of the menu and the concept which in my opinion is a must for fine dining.

The Duck Maseca Pancake is a must and combines smokey, sweet and peppery flavors all at once. There are many other notable fusion items such as the Amberjack Ceviche or the Wagyu Beef Satay sticks to try which are best shared amongst a group. The Angry Zengo Sushi was excellent and a must try, less successful was the Udon Carbonara, while very nice for a pasta dish, it was not really a great example of the fusion concept and was hard to pair with other menus items in a complimentary way.

Drinks, like the venue are on point but on the expensive side.  Watch for the flame throwing barmen on the terrace and take a moment to peruse the humidor for a fine selection of cigars if it's a special occasion.

All in all a brilliant, elegant and stylish venue that is definitely worth jumping on that doesn’t seem to get the hype of other destinations, just be prepared to spend a bit.
