Sharjah Art Foundation presents Rain Room for the first time in the Middle East. The installation is permanently sited in Al Majarrah, Sharjah. Random International’s immersive installation Rain Room (2012) invites you to walk through a downpour of continuous rain without getting wet. Motion sensors detect the movements of the human body as visitors navigate through the darkened underground space, becoming performers in this intersection of art, technology and nature.
OMA’s famous piece is located in Dubai’s Al Quoz industrial area, Alserkal Avenue was founded in 2007 with the aim of promoting cultural initiatives in the region. Since then, it has become Dubai’s most important art hub with twenty-five galleries and art spaces. Concrete, a new venue, addresses the districts growing need for a centrally located public space which can host a diverse program.
