High Times at The Joint

High Times at The Joint

No this isn’t a story about Cypress Hill, but rather a quick tale about a great little burger joint in Al Safa that seats five people. I said little and meant it. It’s tiny but pumping out burgers with big flavors.

The High Joint’s menu is super simple running through all the usual suspects from wings to loaded fried and burgers. There’s four Beef and two Chicken Burgers, of these I went for the double stack Smokey ( AED 39+) which wasn’t pretty to watch for those next me but it was a good burger to inhale. There was a nice crunch from the tempura onions and the patty’s were moist just like they’re meant to be. The extra cheese did what it was meant to but honestly I could have gone with a single. It was ugly delicious all the same.

As if this wasn’t enough, the Spicey Mango Slaw Chicken Burger caught my eye and I knew I had to try it and I’m glad I did. At 37 Dibs, this is a serious contender for burger of the year...yes I know it’s a big call so early on but hear me out. The chicken breast is soaked in butter milk overnight and then coated in buffalo sauce and fried up to order - nothing is frozen and it shows. It’s extremely tender and combines beautifully with the mango slaw and the jalapeños, so you’ve got this smokey, sweet, sour flavor thing happening that’s kinda insane in the membrane.

Add in the fact that you can scrawl your own graffiti everywhere and this is the joint.
