Burger Project: Back To The Drawing Board
Promoting slow food values in the fast food world must be a hard gig.
Neil Perry’s Burger Project brings a great ethos around provenance, community and sustainability to a world flooded with cheap and disposable food offers. On paper this project sounds great and as a pretty big Neil Perry fan I was very eager to check try the burgers myself.
You can imagine my horror then when I was provided a slapped together and squished burger that looked more like something from the golden arches on a bad day….
Presentation aside, at 15 bucks the Bacon Project Burger didn’t eat particularly well and showed no signs of carefully curated provenance in ingredients which given the well intentioned rhetoric was a supreme let down.
The best description of the entire episode from service to food would be exceedingly average.
I think it’s back to the drawing board on this one….
