What's in a Name? Maisan 15
What’s a weekend without a great breakfast?
There’s plenty of great places try and many of them well known and probably form part of a well trodden path for many morning punter looking for their eats.
By now you would probably know a few of the things that get me excited and one of them that’s high on the list is obscure, independent food spots. One such locale is Maisan 15, formally of Cabin name and fame, located in the back blocks of Barsha South near the Dubai Autodrome.
You know sometimes when you get that art and food mix it can attract a certain type of crowd? Well they’re not here. I really dig the understated vibe of the place, it’s casual and completely unpretentious and for Dubai something really quite unique. For me real food, real service and real vinyl is a definite yes.
The walls are home to an ever revolving display of art and on this visit featured the hilarious illustrations of Dubizzle Classifieds.
As for the menu it’s pretty straightforward with options for all dietary preferences that covers all day until 5:30pm then switches up a gear for the evening, with a few items there that I must try!
As for breakfast well I’m a sucker for a big breakfast and a strong coffee but I can also get down with something that’s less full on and with that the Beetroot Benedict (AED 50) caught my eye. Sourdough, poached eggs and beet crisps sounded like a bit of a winner and I’m glad I was right.
So whether it’s called Cabin or Maisan, it’s a cool spot and the the coffee is good too.
Catch ya on the flip side.
