Breakfast at Cassette
A few years back had you have mentioned you were having breakfast in Al Quoz people would have thought you were either lost or maybe having a bite at work at the factory.
Tom & Serge changed all that and there have been quite a few home grown cafes that have followed in similar foot steps.
It seems the recipe for breakfast success in this industrial area is to offer great coffee with a condensed menu of morning classics done just right. It’s all very Melbournian in style and flavor and why not? Melbourne is surely a great template to work off as one of the breakfast capitals of the world.
The Courtyard is the perfect destination for this venue and Cassette sticks to the aforementioned script perfectly, serving up their own versions of breakfast classics. Billed as a modern Parisian Bistro, it’s tucked away in The Courtyard which is a hive of activity on weekend mornings.
Original art prints add some unique flavor to the interiors, while despite being called Cassette, a turntable sits in the corner amongst the greenery.
We tried their Classic Benedict (AED 55) which was a real hit with the addition of orange juice to the Hollandaise, while the Sweet Potato Hash (AED 55) was an interesting take but slightly monotone in flavor. In all the service was spot on and interiors clean, light and bright offering a great locale for the many and varied keyboard warriors to go about their business as they vacuum up bandwidth and caffeine.
Bottom Line: With a focus on food, music, art and design this a more than worthwhile addition to the Al Quoz morning scene.
